In the South Denver metro area, CottageCare doesn’t treat carpet cleaning as an afterthought. Through our teams in Aurora–Parker and Littleton–Highlands Ranch, we use the HOST Liberator dry carpet cleaning system because it protects your carpets, your indoor air, and your family better than traditional “soak and suck” methods in most homes.

What Is the HOST Liberator System?
The HOST Liberator is a dry-extraction carpet cleaning system. Instead of flooding your carpet with hot water and detergent and then trying to suck it all back out, it uses:
- A specialized machine with counter-rotating brushes
- A plant-based, low-moisture cleaning compound (“sponges”)
- Vacuum extraction to remove soil, dust, and the used compound
Think of it as micro-sponges plus mechanical action instead of flood and extract. The carpet gets deep-cleaned, but the fibers, backing, and pad never get saturated.

Why We Use HOST in the South Denver Metro Area
1. Much Less Moisture in a Dry Climate
Denver homes already deal with low humidity and big temperature swings. Over-wetting carpets can lead to:
- Wicking (stains reappearing as the carpet dries)
- Odors from trapped moisture
- Issues with backing, padding, and subfloor over time
HOST uses a fraction of the water that traditional steam systems use. Carpets are dry to the touch by the time we’re done—you can usually walk on them right away.
2. Safer for Carpet Construction and Manufacturer Guidelines
Most modern carpets are built in layers: fibers, backing, latex, pad, and subfloor. When those layers get soaked repeatedly, you can see:
- Separation of the backing
- Ripples or buckling
- Premature wear
Dry-extraction and low-moisture methods are widely recommended because they avoid over-wetting the backing and pad. HOST fits into that “manufacturer-friendly, low-moisture” category, which is one reason we chose it for long-term carpet health.
3. Less Residue, Less “Crunch”
Steam cleaning can leave detergent residue deep in the fibers if the rinse and extraction aren’t perfect. That residue:
- Attracts new soil
- Can leave carpet feeling stiff or crunchy
- Makes traffic lanes look dirty again sooner
With HOST, the plant-based compound absorbs soils and is vacuumed away, instead of leaving soap behind. That means:
- Softer feel underfoot
- Carpets that stay cleaner longer
- Fewer “mystery spots” that keep coming back
4. Designed for Busy, High-Traffic Denver Homes
We chose HOST because it matches how people actually live in Aurora, Denver, Littleton, and Highlands Ranch:
- No long dry times – no roped-off rooms for half a day
- No hoses running through the house – ideal for multi-story homes, townhomes, and condos
- Less disruption – perfect if you work from home, have kids and pets, or just don’t want your house torn apart for cleaning
How Our HOST Carpet Cleaning Process Works
Here’s what to expect when you book a HOST Liberator carpet cleaning with CottageCare in the Denver metro area.
1. Inspection and Pre-Vacuum
We walk the areas with you, note special concerns (stains, pet spots, heavy traffic), and do a thorough pre-vacuum. Getting loose dust and grit out first is key.

2. Spot Treatment
Stubborn stains or pet areas may get targeted pre-treatment with appropriate spotters. The goal is to break down tough spots before the main cleaning pass.
3. Apply HOST Cleaning Compound
We apply the HOST compound—tiny, slightly damp “sponges”—onto the carpet. They’re designed to:
- Loosen and absorb soil, oils, and spills
- Hold the soil in the compound instead of your fibers
- Avoid soaking the backing and pad

4. HOST Liberator Machine Agitation
The Liberator machine’s counter-rotating brushes work the compound gently through the carpet:
- Lifting and separating fibers
- Loosening embedded soil
- Distributing the compound evenly
5. Extraction and Final Vacuum
Once the compound has absorbed the soil, we vacuum it back out along with the dirt, dust, and grime it picked up. What’s left:
- Clean, lifted fibers
- No sticky detergent residue
- Carpet that’s essentially dry when we leave
6. Final Walk-Through
We do a last inspection, groom any visible nap lines, and make sure the areas you were worried about look as good as the carpet construction allows.
Benefits of HOST for Littleton-Area Carpets
Fast Dry Times
- Carpets are dry to the touch right away.
- Furniture can usually go back quickly (with reasonable care).
- No “soggy spots” or fans running all day.
Better for Families, Pets, and Allergy-Sensitive Homes
- Low moisture means less chance of anything growing down in the pad.
- No heavy chemical smell; the system is built around non-toxic, plant-based materials.
- Deep soil removal without over-wetting can help the space feel fresher and more breathable.
Great for High-Value Carpets and Rugs
HOST is well-suited for many:
- Wool and wool-blend carpets
- Higher-end cut pile and patterned styles
- Rugs and runners in high-traffic areas
We always inspect unusual fibers first, but as a rule, HOST is very friendly to higher-end carpet.
Safer for Finished Basements and Lower Levels
Many Denver-area homes have finished basements or lower levels. With traditional steam cleaning, those areas can be risky to saturate. Dry extraction means:
- Less moisture near walls and baseboards
- Less risk to surfaces installed over concrete
- A safer option if you’ve ever had moisture issues down there before
How Often Should You Clean Carpets with HOST?
Timing depends on your household, but general guidelines:
- Every 6–12 months for main living areas in a typical family home
- Every 3–6 months for heavy-traffic zones like stairs, hallways, and family rooms
- As needed for move-ins, move-outs, or post-renovation resets

Common Questions About HOST Carpet Cleaning
Do I need to be home while you clean?
Not necessarily. Many clients provide access instructions and return later to already-clean, already-dry carpets.
Will it remove every stain?
We can’t promise to erase permanent damage, but HOST is extremely effective on most everyday soil, traffic lanes, and many food and drink spills. We’ll show you anything we think might be permanent before we start.
Does it leave powder behind?
The goal is always to vacuum out the compound fully. If a trace amount remains deep in the pile, normal vacuuming afterward will pick up anything that naturally works its way up. You should not see visible residue on the surface.
Is the machine loud or messy?
It’s about as loud as a strong vacuum. There are no hoses running out to a truck and no water being dumped or drained in your home.
Can you clean area rugs with HOST?
Often, yes—especially synthetic and many wool rugs—but we’ll inspect each rug to make sure the method is appropriate.
