SouthPark, Ballantyne, Matthews, Waxhaw and Mint Hill are 1980s and newer two-stories with open kitchens, three or four bathrooms and often a bonus room. Charlotte spring pollen is heavy enough to change the color of a porch, and it comes inside on everything. Humidity keeps bathrooms and window tracks working from April through October, and red clay comes in on shoes after every rain. The air conditioning runs most of the year and keeps dust moving.
