7 Steps To Fake A Clean House

In a perfect world, we have enough time to prepare and get our homes ready for any guests that may stop by for a visit. Typically you might hire a cleaning service (that’s us!) to primp and prepare your home. Let’s be honest – that might not always be the case. Plans can change at the drop of a hat bringing you unexpected visitors that you may not be prepared for. Here are a few tips to make your home appear cleaner than it actually is if you are short on time…

Clear the clutter!

Stack books or display magazines nicely, put the laundry in the laundry basket, utilize drawers, cabinets and most importantly CLOSETS to hide items that might not quite have a “home” of their own yet.

Primp it!

Make the beds, fold any throw blankets/towels nicely, pull shower curtains closed and fluff any pillows.

Dust the stuff!

TV’s, table tops and plants are GREAT and obvious places for dust to collect.

Scrub/Rinse it!

Rinse and/or scrub any sink, shower or toilet your guest might utilize

Unload/Load it!

Collect and take out any trash, load/unload the dishwasher to cut back on any clutter on counter tops.

Floor it!

Vacuum, sweep or mop any floors for that extra, “Look! It’s clean, I promise!” touch!

Freshen up!

Have a favorite candle, essential oil or room spray? Light it, burn it or spray it! Many people associate “clean” with a fresh scent.
